This stunning 1950's faux chinchilla collar and gray wool overcoat is a vintage dream. From the estate of a New England socialite who traveled the globe and wore only the finest clothing. The faux chinchilla collar wraps around the neck and can be worn open or closed by use of furrier hook & eye. Collar can also be worn turned up for even more luxury & warmth. Three ornate buttons, possibly bakelite. Lining is a beautiful matching gray satin. Side slit lined pockets. The lining in the sleeves, which have a slight bell flare, is bracelet length and elasticized at the end to keep the chill out. Flattering A-line style. Body of coat is of the softest, most luxurious wool we believe to be real chinchilla fur and wool blend based on the label shown. There are no union tags or fabric labels. We originally thought the collar was real chinchilla due to the label, but after extensive research we have concluded the fur collar does not meet the standards of real chinchilla fur and that the label must refer to the fabric of the coat itself.
