Rich navy blue silk jacquard men's dressing gown c1940s from Shepard's Department Store, Providence, Rhode Island (1880-1974). Lollipop swirl jacquard print with solid navy blue collar, cuffs & belt. Features a rolling shawl collar, a single bound breast pocket and two bound side pockets, all lined in coordinating navy blue silk fabric. Elegant tassled belt has horizontal loops sewn on the back at each side which attach to belt loops to prevent slipping. Cuffs are an elegant design combination of shaped turned back & french cuff. Fully lined in a luxurious navy blue sateen fabric. There are no fabric or size tags on this robe, so it may have been a made to measure or even a bespoke garment made for a gentleman with very fine taste.

CONDITION: Excellent to Mint. There is a slight bit of fade at the nape of the collar & some of the tassles on the belt, which are tied off into small sections, have come unbound, but that is a very easy repair. A beautiful garment in otherwise immaculate condition that we think even Derek Rose would be charmed by.
