1960s royal navy blue couture weight wool dress suit from Betty of Providence, a boutique once located in Wayland Square, Providence, RI. May possibly be attributed to Seymour Fox, the great New York suit and coat company of the mid 20th century. The color is a cross between royal and navy blue, which was a bit tricky to photograph. Jacket has princess seams, darted shoulders and a 6 hidden snap flap closure effect. Mid length boxy cut with very slight a-line design. Four faux gold buckles add the perfect amount of Chanel-esque detail. The dress is a sleeveless princess sheath with an arrow/funnel sort of collar which closes with two hook & eye closures. Shoulder darts and a 20" back center zipper. Both jacket & dress are fully lined in beautiful matching blue silk. An absolutely elegant suit of the highest quality & style.
