This lovely 1960s suit hails from the design house of Elizabeth Arden, New York. Among highly noted designers associated with Elizabeth Arden were Charles James, Ferdinando Sarmi & during the 1960s, Oscar de la Renta, renowned for dressing style icon Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy during the "Camelot" years in the White House. This suit would fit right into her closet of covetable finery.
The jacket is a double breasted cropped box style with black corded trim. Eight oblong corded passementerie buttons (4 decorative/4 button). The skirt is a slim fit pencil skirt with a 7" center back metal zipper and matching corded trim at waistband. Solid, rich black boucle' (some of the photos were lightened to show details). Jacket is lined in fine black rayon.
