Bold & bright 1960s Mod navy blue & red checkerboard print coat and matching skirt ensemble. Jacket has a wide lapel collar that falls into a left of center button-down front. Four matching fabric covered buttons and oversized loops add great detail. Large patch pockets have similar button & loop detail. The jacket can be worn open at the collar or buttoned all the way up~see photo above.
Fully lined in coordinating red rayon type fabric. Slight a-line design gives it the look of a cape or swing coat of sorts.
The skirt is in a slight a-line design with three panel construction and four darts at waistline. 7" metal zipper at center of back.
This suit is a great example of haute home-spun from another time, but that can
still hold it's own today. (See a similar suit in autumn colors here.)
Fabric: no fabric tags - the fabric feels like a lightweight silky soft wool but it has a red synthetic, sheer type of backing to it.
