The first time I saw this dress it took my breath away...and it still does. Elegant late 1940s grey wool dress with exquisite embroidery detail. Overlapping shawl collar finishes with large center lapel with silver/bronze embroidered design. The bodice of the dress buttons left of center with four working buttons. The skirt of the dress has eight decorative buttons down the right side and a flap pocket with matching embroidery. 12" metal zipper at left side seam. There are shoulder pads and a matching belt. The sleeves each have a four inch petite metal zipper at the wrist. There are no tags or labels with the exception of "215" stamped on the back of the belt. An exquisitely made dress and a beautiful piece of history.

FABRIC & CARE: Wool. Dry Clean Only
CONDITION: Very Good. The bottom button is missing and there is a small hole/worn spot just right of the 6th button of the skirt. The dress could be hemmed to hide the last buttonhole and a piece of that fabric could be used to patch the worn area if simple mending won't do the trick. There is a tiny hole on the upper right arm @ 3" from the underarm seam, but not much more than a pin-prick. Otherwise, the dress is in excellent to mint condition.
