~~ABOUT BANANA BOB JEWELRY~~
Banana Bob was started in 1986 in Los Angeles, CA by Annie Venditti, who at the time was working as a professional figure skater, performing on stage & television. An injury led her back to her design background (Pratt Institute) and the Banana Bob Fine Jewelry line was born.
Everything in the Banana Bob line was made and assembled in Rhode Island, USA. The company did import component parts; the rhinestones & many of the fancy stones are Swarovski of Austria. Other stones were imported from various parts of Europe & the Orient. Some pieces are signed, some have a stamped Patent #, however most were "signed" by the card they came on. The styles are classically feminine with a contemporary spirit. Each piece is generally reminiscent of a more romantic time and a tribute to women who take pride in self-expression. The line was sold at fine department stores including Nordstrom, Bloomingdales & Macy's. Her beautiful creations quickly developed a cult-like following by "Bob" devotees around the world, and especially so after the company closed it's doors in the late 1990s.
